Okay...so there's a new edition of Wuthering Heights out that bills it as "Edward and Bella's favorite book."
Is this really the best thing a classic 19th century gothic masterpiece has going for it?
Coupled with Christopher Paolini's introduction to Steinbeck's Acts of King Arthur...this makes me want to scream. |

A brief speech by a WWII veteran in support of continued gay marriage rights in Maine (and throughout the country). Still on the fence about it? Watch this, and you won't be anymore.
Okay, I realize that probably all of you reading this are off the fence already, but still, it's a very inspiring clip. :-)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Maine! I donated to marriage equality drives and everything! :-D |

It may not be about a war, an economic crisis, or an encroachment on civil rights, but in a way, this may be the most important news story I've heard in a while. |

-face palm- this makes me embarrassed about Arizona all over again.
Two things I am particularly aghast at:
1) This is only "the *latest* incident in which protesters have openly displayed firearms near the president"??
2) Police were patrolling the crowd to make sure that the man with the semi-automatic rifle didn't get hurt? Why the hell weren't they tackling that idiot to the ground?
I am just about out of patience with this state and its guns. |

Two thoughts:
1) If, in the 80s, we were breaking up with the idea we'd been in love with in the 60s and 70s, then in the 90s we were still bitter about it, but in the current decade we're finally moving on.
2) Meatloaf was pretty hot back in the day! :-P |

This is too much fun not to post on.
Apparently Sarah Michelle Gellar is afraid of graveyards and has nightmares about being buried alive?
I know I can't be the only Buffy fun to find this supremely ironic.

P.S. This was in the yahoo newsfeed, thank you very much. I'm not so bored as to be reading celebrity gossip columns as a matter of course. |

Shaved a bit today, partly out of boredom and partly to see what it looks like. Just my upper lip, nothing serious. I was hoping it would look more stylish than traditional, but for some reason it makes me look slightly...Scottish.
I'm blaming this on you, gonzothegreat! |

Dooood...Red Wings are playing Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals, starting today. Everybody watch!
If Detroit wins again, my sister might be able to catch the after-party (again)! |

Yesterday was actually...dare I say it?...nice! The rain lowered the temperature and raised the humidity, everything had gotten the dust washed off of it, and there was a really beautiful sunset on the way home. I wish it was like that more often here. |

I just finished calculating my final grades for my last class, which means...
I'm done with the semester! Woot!
...and, now begins the summer of reading as I prepare for my comps.
Life fail.
(But still, no more teaching until September! Hooray!) |
